A Simple Dubai Boxing Workout

This beginner friendly workout will introduce you to fundamental punches and movements, getting you started on your boxing journey. Remember, listen to your body, take breaks when needed, and most importantly, have fun!

Warm-Up (5 minutes):

  • Jumping Jacks: 3 sets of 30 seconds
  • High Knees: 3 sets of 30 seconds
  • Butt Kicks: 3 sets of 30 seconds
  • Arm Circles: 3 sets of 10 forward, 10 backward (each arm)
  • Shadowboxing: Light punches for 1 minute, focusing on form over speed

The Boxing Workout (3 rounds, 30 seconds work, 30 seconds rest):

Round 1: Footwork Drills

  • Lateral Shuffles: Shuffle side-to-side for 30 seconds, maintaining a low center of gravity.
  • Mountain Climbers: Alternate bringing knees to chest for 30 seconds, keeping core engaged.

Round 2: Punches

  • Jabs: Focus on proper form – stand with feet shoulder-width apart, twist your core with each punch, extend left arm (jab) straight out, then retract. Repeat for 30 seconds, alternating arms.
  • Crosses: Imagine punching across your body. Pivot slightly on your front foot as you extend your right arm (cross) with a powerful punch. Return to starting position and repeat for 30 seconds, alternating arms.

Round 3: Conditioning

  • Squats: 3 sets of 15 repetitions, focusing on keeping your back straight and core engaged.
  • Plank: Hold a high plank position for 30 seconds, forearms on the ground and core tight.

Cool-Down (5 minutes):

  • Arm Stretches: Reach overhead and behind your back to stretch major muscle groups.
  • Leg Stretches: Gently stretch your quads, hamstrings, and calves.
  • Light Walking: Walk in place for a few minutes to bring your heart rate down.

Bonus Round (Optional):

  • Shadowboxing: Put it all together! For 1-2 minutes, shadowbox, incorporating the punches and footwork drills you learned. Focus on maintaining proper form and breathing techniques.

Remember: This is just a sample workout. You can adjust the intensity and duration based on your fitness level. As you progress, consider adding more rounds, increasing work time, or decreasing rest time. Then consider a 121 personal training session and learn about how it works.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout your workout to stay hydrated and energized.

Listen to Your Body: Don’t push yourself too hard, especially when starting. Take breaks when needed and gradually increase the intensity as you get stronger.
